Drawing from ideas surrounding fine china and high tea —delicate, proper and in control— the concept for this piece was to disrupt those associations. Like the spinning tea cups at an amusement park, this piece works to produce a sense of heightened emotion, nervousness and the uneasy feeling that comes from not knowing when the breaking point will occur—like a spinning top that never falls.
